I always assumed Mido Multicenter chrono’s were like a ‘needle in a haystack’, (I guess all the harvesting in this area is making my head spin ㋡) turns out that the Mido Multichrono is the one you need to keep an eye on, these are practically impossible to find. Well folks, now’s your chance. It might cost you an arm and a leg, but it’s well worth it.
Maybe the most attractive feature on Mido chrono’s are the pushers, I love the cylindric shape topped with the sunburst pattern, these pushers where also used on the Patek Philippe ref. 1463 nicknamed 'Tasti Tondi'. In this case the pushers are made of a luscious pink gold as is the bezel and crown with raised Mido logo. The case is unmistakably a François Borgel, which stands for superb quality, it states waterproof and impermeable on the back, but I cannot emphasize enough, please keep it far away from any liquid of sorts.
Ticking away the time inside you will find the utterly reliable Minerva 13-20 CH caliber movement. Minerva made a modified version of the Minerva 13-20 chronograph movements for Mido and signed them; 'Mido Limited, Switzerland Multichrono'. Minerva introduced this movement as early as 1923, strictly for mono/one button pushers, but 17 years later they made it possible to use it for bi/two pushers, it was so remarkably well engineered that the production continued through the 1960's up to the year 2000 with some slight re-manufacturing over time, but still actually using the original equipment.
Freshly overhauled and as always we provide 1 year warranty.
Check out the photos, it looks rather stunning wouldn't you agree…
