Dating from approximately the mid 1920’s this timeless handsome pocket watch feels smooth to the touch and fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, with its ± 47.5 cm in diameter its fairly large. The case is produced in an alloy, most likely nickel, the case back is signed with the well-known Movado logo, the word ‘Grisite’ and déposé - made in the French speaking part of Switzerland. ‘Grisite’, does not refer to the case material, so I assume it has something to do with the Swiss case manufacture.
The breguet numerals on the dial are raised and gold colored. The fine ‘Lances’ model index hands are created in blued steel.
The crystal is glass, mineral glass which is a hard glass type with scratch-resistant properties, not unbreakable though.
Inside you will find the stunning ‘in-house’ 15 jewels, 800M manual wind Movado caliber with the beautiful high-end finishing called ‘Geneva striping’. The 800M Movado caliber was launched in 1910 and used up to the 1960’s, so it has been in production for 50 years, which in itself speaks volumes for its high quality, accuracy and reliability.
Its a lovely pocket watch that deserves to pass on into the hands of someone who knows how to appreciate it...
