This stainless-steel Omega watch dates from the 1940’s. The case and crown are untouched and carry signs of wear, nothing worth mentioning though, just signs you would expect to find on an 80 plus year old watch. The case back is a screw-down with ‘sei tacche’, oops, that nickname was only invented for Longines, because no other brand uses ‘six notches’ ?¿
The case reference is 2450-3. Inside you will find the freshly serviced superb, robust and reliable in-house manual wind Swiss Omega 26.5T3 caliber with a sub-second function. It is ticking way the time, as if not a year has passed. Around the movement and between the case back sits an extra case-ring with 8 flaps, it is used to absorb shocks and protect the movement.
According to the Omega database, the 8-digit serial number indicates that the watch dates back to 1944 to be precise. The original dial looks amazing; the luminous on the Arabic numbers is totally intact. The hands are blued steel, and luminous filled. The clear crystal is acrylic, slightly domed and unscratched.
We added an easy swap grey cotton canvas strap, which suits the watch rather well and feels soft to the touch and flexible.
