The heart of this Tissot beats thanks to the famous automatic movement caliber 28.5T-21. This caliber was produced between 1944 and 1953. What makes early bumper automatic watches so special is that the automatic rotor literally bumps against the springs while winding the mainspring. You can actually feel a unique sensation while wearing a bumper, which is a point of appeal for early bumper watch enthusiasts. These automatic movements with a bumper rotated approximately 180 degrees, while later automatic movements with a full/central rotor achieved a rotation of 360 degrees. The stainless steel case has an elegant shape with teardrop-shaped lugs and an original recessed crown. This Tissot has definitely seen some action, the dial with raised Tissot logo looks as if it has been to sunny origin’s, you might like the look, or prefer a something more pristine. It's all about personal taste, and it unmistakably gives the watch character. The acrylic crystal had a crackled texture, so we replaced it with a new old stock crystal with the same slightly domed shape. The Tissot has received a full service/overhaul, is lubricated in all the right places, it is tuned, adjusted and is keeping good time...
