The International Watch Company was founded in 1868 by the American engineer and watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones (1841–1916). The company was taken over by the Rauschenbach family in 1880 after bankruptcy and it remained in their hands for several generations. The history is long and tumultuous, so I will spare you the details.
Moving on to the latest addition to our webstore, is this handsome pocket watch from the famous International Watch Company.
The gorgeous stainless-steel ‘Staybrite’ (high quality steel) case, oozes Art Deco not only due to the stylish engraved linear decoration on the back, but also the beautiful design of the stepped shape of the case gives it away. Inside you will find the stunning all-in-house yellow gold gilded 73 Lépine caliber movement with the tiny round emblem reading: PROBUS SCAFUSIA with IWC in the middle.
The dial is creamy/off white with raised glossy silver colored Breguet numerals, and matching hands. The mineral glass is ever so slightly domed, and beautifully beveled. The original crown has a good grip and winds easily.
All original, freshly serviced, adjusted, tuned, keeping good time and sold with one-year warranty.
